El álbum nº 12 de estudio de Depeche Mode lleva el título de "Sounds of the Universe", anunciado como un disco ecléctico y con mucha energía.
Incluye canciones compuestas por Martin Gore y Dave Gahan, al igual que en "Playing the angel" (2005).
Fue producido por Ben Hillier e incluye 13 canciones.
EL DVD incluirá tres películas grabadas durante la preparación de Sounds of the Universe y el videoclip del primer single, "Wrong".
